  • Whine Alert!

I'm gonna whine on here again. Sorry to any of you that actually read this, but hey, it is my site and I can whine if I want.

You would think by now that I would have gotten over the fact that when you get older the world doesn't stop for your birthday.  There are still obligations that must be fulfilled even if it is the anniversary of your birth.  The world doesn't care.

I guess I wouldn't mind not doing anything special on my actual birthday it is just that my birthday was just so insanely busy! I haven't had a chance to breath today and I really shouldn't even be taking the time to write this post.

At least my parent's and one of my brothers called to say Happy Birthday.  I really appreciate that.  Scott remembered my birthday and got my age right so that is a plus.  I even got to have cake and a nice dinner last Friday when I was down home so it isn't like my birthday was completely unnoticed. I just wish my life wasn't so insane right now.  I'm sick sick sick of all this school work.  I have papers coming out my ears and I barely have a free moment to write them! ugh

Oh and I have now have a full-blow pet-peeve with Facebook birthday wishes.  I stopped wishing people happy birthday on fb a while ago.  Not that I don't wish people happy birthday at all, but I only wish people happy birthday if I would remember their birthday without the help of facebook or would actually take the time to call or email them. Not just an obligatory "happy birthay" written on the wall.  How meaningful is a plain ol "happy birthday" when fb rememinds all your friends?  If the person truely remembered a simple happy birthday would be great, but I doubt that so many people (and people I never talk to) would remember it is my birthday without fb.

Ok I should stop ranting now.  Maybe I can channel my irritation into studying....

  • Tired-o

I should be studying. What else is new?

This semester I am keeping quite busy with 19 credit hrs, a part-time job, being an officer in the Food Science Club, and planning a wedding.  I haven't freaked out yet but we shall see what midterms bring....

I have a test tomorrow that I need to be studying for but my brain doesn't like to function after getting out of my night class. Maybe I should go to bed and wake up early....the question is whether I will really get up early enough to study. hmmmm sleep sounds so amazing.  How sad is it that it isn't even midnight and here I am ready for bed?

This post isn't really all that coherent but I felt like posting and not studying.

Oh guess what? I have a phone interview next week with General Mills for an internship with the Pillsbury Bake-off contest.  It would be an awesome internship.  The biggest problem though is the internship is set to go through Aug 18th and I'm getting married the 1st.  I'm not sure if they would be very keen on me taking time off......  Well, if they don't want to let me have the time off they won't offer me the internship and I'll know it wasn't ment to be.

I think I'm going to go to sleep and wake up early instead. Ok. goodnight.

  • You know you are getting old...

    When:

    - Christmas is suddenly upon you and you have no idea how it appeared out of nowhere
-You actually get presents for people that don't involve popsicle sticks
    - Your parents have to wake you up to go open presents
    - You get practical gifts
    - You are EXCITED for those practical gifts. "Yesssss, Thanks Mom and Dad! I needed some new long underwear and socks!"

I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas.  Enjoy the time with family and remember, the greatest gift is the gift of salvation offered to all through Jesus Christ.   Merry Christmas!!

    BREAK!

It is finally Christmas break and I am soooo happy about it

I found out that I passed biochem today which is AMAZING.  God is so good.  The professor gave a good curve.  I don't have to retake the class. Hallelujah!

I am at home now for a week.  It will be a nice and relaxing week of no school and no work.
Right now I should be working on finishing sewing my last few Christmas presents but I need the iron and it is with my sleeping grandparents

Tomorrow I think the plan in to bake lots of yummy cookies.  I also need to find (or if I can't find, make) my sister's present.  Her request is not easy to find!  I also want to go to Half-Price Books because I have a buy one get one free coupon that expires on the 24th.  If I don't find some of the books I need for next semester I will just buy some fun books.  Wouldn't that be fun?

During this Christmas break I need to do some wedding planning. Things like, make a budget, work out a timeline, reserve the church, reserve the date with the florist, talk to Pastor Joel, and start working on guest lists.  Yikes! I was hoping to be lazy over break, that might not happen! I'm pretty excited that Heather S. is going to help design wedding invites and take engagement photos. How awesome is that? They will be pretty spiffy I'm sure!

Right now I am being very lazy. I'm just laying on the couch snuggled in an afgan (because it is insanely cold outside!) and thinking about starting to read C.S. Lewis' "Till We Have Faces."  I will be happy reading a book just for fun and not for school.

Well I think I am done typing on xanga for now.  Enjoy your break!

    Peace,
    Janelle

  • Good Job America

Congratulations America on being incredibly retarded and voting in a socialist president.  I hope you enjoy the next 4 years of being taxed to death to pay for your lazy neighbor among other things.  good job.  You have officially proven yourselves to be uninformed and devoid of any critical or long term thinking skills. good job.
